I’ve been using MSN’s Credit Card Analyzer service before applying for a card with much success.

The system is very user-friendly, highlighting the range of APR for most of the major cards listed and the average rate of the week. Once you dig deeper into the chart actual rate, annual fees (if any), introductory rate (and period), and actions required to apply are all given.
