Do you need more than One Credit Card?
Millions of consumers rely on credit cards to make everyday purchases. Do you? If so, you have at least one credit card in your wallet. The question is: do you need more than one? This is a common question that many consumers ask. After all, more credit cards have to be better, right? While this is a common way of thinking, the answer is not always yes. There can come a time when you have enough credit cards and you don’t need to think about adding another one to your wallet.
If you are financially irresponsible you definitely don’t want to carry more than one credit card. In fact, you may not even want to carry one. Consumers who cannot control their spending don’t need access to more credit. This will only lead to more debt and more trouble in the end.
What if I am responsible? In this case you may want to carry a few credit cards. For instance, some consumers have one credit card that they use for grocery purchases and another for gas. This is the system that they use to stay organized, and if responsible, it may work. Others use more than one credit card because this works in their favor from a rewards program point of view.
Finally, if you have a low credit card limit on your only card you may need another to free up some more credit.
Keep this tip in mind: you should not have any credit cards if you are not responsible with the way you use them. Only those who act responsibly with their money should think about carrying a credit card. If you trust yourself and know that you can control your spending there is nothing wrong with applying for another credit card if need be.
