What to do with your Economic Stimulus Rebate?
As you know by now, millions of Americans are going to be receiving an economic stimulus rebate within the next few months. Chances are that if you earn any income you will be eligible to receive a check. With that being said, what are you going to do with your rebate? Are you going to spend it? If so, will the money go towards bills or something special that you have had your eyes on at the store?
The objective of issuing these rebates is quite simple: to stimulate the economy and get people spending money. But of course, there is no way for the government to control what you do with the money. While they would like you to spend it on items that will give the economy a boost, it is safe to say that many will be either saving the rebate or putting it towards paying down debt.
It is up to you on how to spend your economic stimulus rebate. If you are looking for some fun, you could easily take this money and blow it on a big screen television, a vacation, or anything else that comes to mind. But for many, this is not the best financial decision. With the cost of living increasing on what seems like a daily basis, you may be best off saving the money or getting rid of excess debt.
For now, you still have some time to think things over. Although the IRS will begin processing the rebates soon enough, they will not be done until the end of summer.
