With a Struggling Economy, Consumers asked to Spend Stimulus Check

image-10-42508.jpgAs you know by now, millions of Americans will be receiving an economic stimulus payment from the IRS by the end of the summer. If you take a closer look at the phrase “economic stimulus check” what do you see? Simply put, the government wants you to spend this money to stimulate the economy. In other words, if everybody who receives a check puts it into the bank and does nothing, the results will be a total flop. Of course, this is far from realistic. But with that being said: how many people are really going to spend this payment on frivolous items when there are more important expenses to be taken care of?

With the economy struggling, more and more consumers are finding themselves in trouble due to job losses, cut backs, and the rising cost of items such as gasoline and food. For this reason, it is safe to say that these people will be taking their economic stimulus payment and using it in a more practical manner.

There is no way for the government or IRS to regulate how this money is spent. They have decided that this is the best way to stimulate the economy, and with the first checks due to be sent out within the next month or so, early results will be available soon enough. It is there hopes that these payments will not only boost the economy, but also create hundreds of thousands of jobs for out of work Americans.

It is your choice on how to spend the economic stimulus payment that you will be receiving in the near future. While the government wants you to splurge on a big screen television, you are within your rights to save this money or use it to pay down debt. So what will it be?
