Why would hiring a tax professional be a bad thing? Many people do not believe in doing this because they want to learn how to do their own taxes. If this is the case, you are right. The only way that you can learn how to do your own taxes, as well as the details that go into this process, is to move forward on your own.
Others feel that hiring a tax professional is a bad thing because there is no point in spending money if you can do something on your own. In other words, why pay a tax professional to file your final return if you can do it on your own time? This is a legitimate argument. But at the same time you need to look at both sides of the story. Yes, you can save money, but it is not worth it if you make mistakes that will cost you in the long run.
